Greek Anthology 6.126.4 (
Dioscorides), which however has
dh|/ois ["may you brandish"] for the lexicon's
dh/eis ["you meet"]. On the epigram, taken from a Cretan warrior's shield, see Gow and Page (vol. I, 85), (vol. II, 245-246), and another extract at
theta 420. Gow and Page note (vol. I, 85) that the Suda follows the
Anthologia Palatina in reading
dh/eis, but they find the emendation of
dh|/ois given by Tyrwhitt to be convincing (vol. II, 246).
