Pestle, doi/duc (delta 1560) is the equivalent of koxlia/rion (kappa 2202) in ps.-Zonaras (560). Hesychius (delta2099) had given a)letri/banos, 'grinder', as a gloss. See also ps.-Herodian 24.
Outside these lexica and grammars the present headword itself occurs only in (and is therefore probably generated by) Plutarch, Phocion 4.2, quoting the historian Idomeneus of Lampsacus (FGrH 338 F15); Idomeneus claims that Phocion's father plied this trade; Plutarch disagrees.
