*diw/ruc, diw/rugos.
cf.
delta 1201;
alpha 579;
alpha 3562; ps.-Herodian 205.
The form
diw/ruxos for the genitive is also attested, esp. (consistently) in
Herodotus and
Plato; see web address 1. The declension pattern with
g is used in later Greek. In a similar way, the word
katw/ruc follows a declension with
x in
Aeschylus and
Sophocles. Cf.
Phrynichus 210:
dia\ tou= g kakw=s: oi( ga\r a)rxai=oi tau=ta dia\ tou= x le/gousi.
