The headword is the Attic contracted form of xno/os; cf. under epsilon 148, mu 196, and see also Hesychius s.v. Perhaps extracted here from Sophocles (fr.1115 Radt) or Aristophanes (Clouds 978), though Adler links it with Psalms 1:4 LXX on the basis of Hesychius' quotation from there (ta\ lepta\ tw=n a)xu/rwn "the light bits of chaff").
