*bow=men: dotikh=|. o)mo/swmen. kai\ *bow/menon, e)pikalou/menon.
[1] (Likewise in syntactical lexica.) In classical usage, both
boa/w ["I call upon"] and
o)/mnumi ["I swear by"] were construed with the accusative, not the dative, but both can occur with dative in later Greek.
[2] The verb
boa/w is sometimes used of solemn or inspired proclamations and declarations; perhaps it is in this sense that it could be glossed with "swear." Same glossing in
Hesychius and
Photius, though the headword there is transmitted as
bww=men (otherwise unattested), not the Suda's
bow=men.
[3] Present middle-passive participle of
boa/w, masculine accusative singular or neuter nominative/accusative singular. Same glossing in
Photius and elsewhere; evidently quoted from somewhere.
