Strabo and Arrian, amongst others. Its name is derived from the nymph Brettia (according to
Stephanus of
Byzantium s.v.), and it lay between the Rhyndakos and Makestos rivers in Asian
Mysia (present-day Turkey): Barrington Atlas map 62 grid A2.
