[Referring to a] river [of that name].
*)/alhkos: potamo/s.
Adler draws attention (by a simple "cf.") to the suspiciously similar entry
alpha 1195:
A)/lhc: o)/noma to/pou, where Gaisford had suggested emendation to
o)/noma potamou=. It is obviously possible that a river and a "place" shared the same name, but in any event the name will be
A)/lhc, genitive
A)/lhkos.
Another, remoter possibility is that the zeta has dropped off an entry for the river Zalekos in
Pontos, modern Turkey.
