Etimêsamên: hôs egôg' etimêsamên an tou pantos, Antônion ton apokteinanta Kikerôna perieinai.
The unglossed headword is presumably extracted from the quotation given. For the verb cf.
epsilon 3319.
[1] Quotation unidentifiable, but presumably from a rhetorical exercise on events and personalities of the 40s BC. That Antony (cf. under
iota 399) 'killed
Cicero' (
kappa 1594), in December 43, is an over-simplification. After Antony had marked him down for proscription,
Cicero was tracked down and killed by Antony's soldiers (see e.g.
Plutarch,
Cicero 47-49).
Cicero's head and hands were cut off, and Antony had them displayed on the
rostra -- perhaps at the instigation of his then wife Fulvia: see under
phi 567.
