The headword (from kaki/zw: kappa 153, and cf. kappa 154) and gloss are middle/passive present participle, masculine nominative plural. The headword one can have a middle sense, 'being humble' or 'being cowardly' (e.g. Homer Iliad 24.214: web address 1); but among likely sources for the lexicographers this particular form occurs only in Thucydides 1.105.6 (web address 2) and 5.75.3 (web address 3) where the usage is passive. (This connection was also proposed by Naber and Theodoridis on Photius.)
