She has applied her 20+ years experience in broadband communications and media and broadcast, technology, marketing, and strategic planning to the genealogy world. Not only a successful researcher, Marlis has approached genealogy with a unique perspective on how technology advances in multimedia applications can enrich our sharing of family history and presents and teaches her ideas and methods, inspiring genealogists – whether beginner, expert, or professional, nationally and internationally. Marlis is President of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAJGS). She is Vice President and Technology Outreach Committee Chair for the Florida State Genealogical Society (FSGS) and Vice President of Programs and Publicity for the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Orlando (JGSGO). Marlis recently received the FSGS 2014 Distinguished Service award. Marlis is a member of the National Genealogical Society (NGS), the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), the Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS), the Indian River Genealogical Society (IRGS), LitvakSIG, the International Society of Family History Writers and Editors (ISFHWE), and the Genealogical Speakers Guild (GSG).
