A retired attorney, Harold Ticktin is on the board of the International Association of Yiddish Clubs and chaired the IAYC’s 1997 convention in Cleveland. He is a founding member of the annual Yiddish Concert in the Park of the Workmen’s Circle in Cleveland, and was honored by the Cleveland Workmen’s Circle as Man of the Year. He is conversant in 6 languages, including a self-taught Yiddish. He has published over 500 articles on a wide variety of subjects in the Cleveland Jewish News, Plain Dealer, New York Times, Moment, Congress Monthly, the Jerusalem Post, Christian Century, and U.S. Catholic Magazine.
